Persona 4
Persona 4 (full name: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4) is an amazing game. If you like either JRPGs, dating sims, or visual novels even only a little bit, you have to check this one out. You play as a Japanese high school student who is sent to live with your uncle and cousin in the country town of Inaba. With your team of new friends that you'll make along the way, you are tasked with solving a serial kidnapping and murder mystery, with the power of Persona granted to you to fight the onslaught of monsters called Shadows.
The gameplay is vastly improved from the prequel, Persona 3, in that you can directly control your teammates during the turn-based battles, instead of stupid AI making stupid decisions the whole time. Persona 4 features lovable characters, solid voice acting, and a fantastic story filled with psychological and moral themes with some mythology for good measure. I haven't fully finished the game myself, but I do know how it goes, and there are a couple of different story endings depending on the choices you make.
I will say that your best bet for finding this game is through the magic of the internet, preferably eBay or Amazon. It's a rare find, and I had a hell of a time trying to find it in local Gamestops before giving up and going online to get it (On a side note, you know how you look for a game forever, give up and get online, and then you see it EVERYWHERE YOU GO!!! I hate that. So much). Anyway, I highly recommend it.
