Visual Novels and Eroge

I'll be posting reviews and news I hear about various visual novels and eroge on this page. Below is my review of my first eroge, Wanko to Kurasou. In my current collection of visual novels and eroge, I have of course the classic Fate/Stay Night, I have Koihime Musou, Harem Party, and Go!Go! Nippon!, all purchased from MangaGamer, who you should definitely visit for legit copies of all-ages and adult visual novels, I have a partially-translated copy of Maji de Watashi ni Koishinasai! (Majikoi!) from the translators of Yandere Translations, who have translated a number of different visual novels, and I have a copy of the critically-acclaimed Katawa Shoujo from Four Leaf Studios. I will eventually review all of these, and post them here. But for now, read on for my preliminary review of Wanko to Kurasou!


Wanko to Kurasou

An eroge visual novel by Ivory, and translated into English by the wonderful people at Yandere Translations (they have some other translated eroge and other visual novels, so check them out), Wanko to Kurasou is set in a world parallel to ours, where there exist beings known as Anthropoid pets, which have human forms and posses a certain level of intelligence, but retain many of their animal characteristics and instincts (most notably in this game the urge to mate in the Spring and Fall seasons).

There are two routes in this game: the Nadeshiko route (the legal loli, she's really like 20-30 something, despite her looking like a junior high student) or the Risa route (the high schooler hottie; despite being a virgin [initially] she is very sexually intrigued, as can be seen in the picture below):

Each route implies for different content and endings. Nadeshiko's route has more sex with more characters, while Risa's route pretty much restricts you to 3 or 4 sex partners (kinda nukige, kinda not). However, Risa's route has, in my opinion, the happier ending. It's a lot like those movie you see as a little kid, where a pet gets lost, and has to find their own way home. Do you know what I am talking about? Yeah, it is kind of a tear-jerker; I shed a tear or two myself.

The main character of the game, Yuuichi, is in my opinion one of the coolest main characters in any anime, manga, or of course, visual novels. Orphaned at a young age, he was adopted by an escort, and was henceforth raised in brothels his entire life. As such, he has a disdain for the idea of true love, associating it as only a source for money and sexual gratification. He's cool, calm, and collected most of the time, and cynical, a realist, not like most main characters. Cowardly or panicky doesn't suit him, and, as a result of his upbringing, he has a way with the ladies.

As of right now, I have only completed the Risa route, but I am extremely looking forward to Nadeshiko's route, as it contains the only catgirl character in the game, Kuu, as seen below:

Dark, long hair? Check. Large, perky breasts? Check. Intelligent (Though that's not obvious from the picture)? Check. Catgirl? Double check (Ears AND tail, guys; most important). Obviously in heat? Triple check. AAAAAAWWWWWWWWW YYYYYEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

It doesn't take much to figure out what turns me on, huh? So far, there's only been this little masturbatory scene, so I'm looking forward to full-blown intercourse. Once I've finished the Nadeshiko route, I'll be able to write a full review, so look forward to it.
